Reflection
This semester I have learned several valuable things in regard to media. Throughout the semester there has been several projects involving large groups of students. Having to communicate and schedule with other students on these projects has made me realize the importance of roles within a group. I have also improved on my techniques with the camera itself. This is including learning ISO levels and shots in general. In my short film migraine I learned proper times to execute a Dutch tilt shot. This film also helped me learn more about final cut pro, the editing software we use. I learned how to use and adjust filters ad it gave me a good idea of when to use filters and at what point they become tacky and annoying. The most important thing that I have earned from this semester is how to visually drive a story. I came to learn this through making a silent film this year. Since we were unable to use dialogue or music we had to find ways to show a clear story through the shots alone. This was difficult and this project was extremely stressful but in the end we were successful and learned valuable lessons. This has been a very good semester despite not being proud of all my projects, I have learned through the mistakes that were made.
